The pop-up event, called Winterfest In The Square, is taking place at the Old Stone Inn Boutique Hotel in Niagara Falls.

The Old Stone Inn to win Deck the Falls best decor

Success came by design for winners of the Ontario Power Generation (OPG) Winter Festival of Lights’ “Deck the Falls” competition. Decor at the Old Stone Inn Boutique Hotel was rated as the top design along the tour. Created by designer Janette Ewan, the decor featured many woodland elements, creating an enchanted forest feel with natural accoutrements like moss, decorative wolves’ heads and owls. The win means a $5,000 donation will be made in Janette’s name to the Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada.

The Old Stone Inn was built in 1904 and began its life as one of the Niagara Falls region’s leading flour mills, only to be destroyed by a major fire 12 years later. Luckily, in 1977, new owners converted the building into a beautiful hotel that is full of modern design features whilst retaining its old world charm. Music series looks to expose artists in intimate setting

NIAGARA FALLS — Juliana Bellante wants to provide a stage for experienced musicians to ply their craft. “I’m looking for what I call ‘seasoned musicians in there 20s and 30s,’ ” Bellante said as she revealed plans for what she hopes will become monthly concerts at venues throughout the region. First up is a show September 21 at the Old Stone Inn in Niagara Falls. The show will feature West Coast singer-songwriter JP Maurice and
St. Catharines musician Mel Monaco.
